Overview





The Bookkeeper is responsible for full-cycle accounting , supporting financial operations, compliance and reporting for The Cove Lakeside Resort and associated companies. This role works closely with the HR & Finance Manager and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls.

Job Duties and Responsibilities





Manage full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, and reconciliations of cash, bank accounts, credit cards, and revenues. Calculate, reconcile, and distribute Rental Pool Owner payments. Process accounts receivable, issue invoices, and ensure timely collections. Manage accounts payable, including accurate coding, posting, and timely payment of invoices. Prepare and organise year-end financial data for review and submission to the accountant. Review nightly audit postings and reports for accuracy. Prepare and file statutory returns, including GST, PST MRDT, EHT, and WCB. Support payroll processing, including T4 preparation. Prepare financial statements, summaries, and management reports. Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting. Respond promptly to inquiries from Rental Pool Owners. Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist the HR & Finance Manager with administrative duties as needed during peak workload periods or absences. Maintain professional relationships with internal teams, Rental Pool Owners, financial institutions, accountants, and auditors.

Requirements





Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role Post-secondary education in bookkeeping or accounting Experience in the hospitality industry considered a significant asset Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy Strong keyboarding and data entry skills Proven ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work effectively

Pay:

$27.00-$30.00 per hour plus summer bonus
