They provide expert advice in Motor Vehicle Accidents, Personal Injury, Strata Law, Disability Insurance, Estate Claims, Wills and Estate Planning, Employment, and Family Law. They are currently looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time permanent basis to work 2 days a week. Hourly wage up to $50 DOEResponsibilities

  • Day-to-day recording of all trust and general account transactions
  • Making deposits and printing trust and general cheques
  • Accepting e-transfers for trust
  • Preparing credit card invoices to clients
  • Reconciling and balancing monthly trust and general bank accounts
  • Maintaining trust ledger, accounts receivable sub-ledger, and accounts payable
accounts * Preparing payroll semi-monthly
  • Preparing a spreadsheet of cash expenses
  • Preparing necessary government remittances such as GST, PST, WCB and
payroll deduction remittances * Assisting lawyer in preparing Law Society Trust Reports and providing supportduring Trust Audits. * Remind lawyers to complete the annual practice declaration online.
  • Organizing, and maintaining accurate records for the required retention periods
  • Liaising with Accountant for year-end reporting
  • Closing files
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience in the legal industry is a must
  • PCLaw and Sage50 experience is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Detail-orientated and adaptable
  • Great time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
