Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our Accounting & Administration team. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of bookkeeping and accounting principles, excellent data entry skills, and experience with cloud-based accounting systems like QuickBooks Online, Sage, etc.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts receivable, assisting with payroll, and supporting overall financial operations. Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable:
Prepare and send invoices to clients; follow up to ensure timely payments.
Reconcile AR ledger and investigate discrepancies or billing issues.
Receive and record customer payments in the accounting system (QuickBooks Online).
Maintain accurate digital records of transactions and prepare AR reports as needed.
Accounts Payable:
Process vendor invoices, bills, and expense reimbursements in accordance with internal policies.
Prepare AR reports and aging summaries as required by management.
Reconcile AP ledger and resolve vendor discrepancies.
Set up new vendor accounts and maintain organized electronic records.
General Accounting & Payroll Support:
Post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
Coordinate with Project Managers and other departments to confirm billable work and resolve invoicing issues.
Assist with payroll and tax filings as required.
Support financial reporting and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Provide backup for other accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications
Certificate or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
Intermediate Knowledge of QuickBooks Online or other accounting software.
Understanding of Canadian AR practices and basic financial procedures.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up consistently.
Pay: $50,000 - $70,000 per year
