Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Bookkeeper
to manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a group of companies from one centralized office. The ideal candidate will have experience handling multiple sets of books, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to support both day-to-day operations and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping: accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
Prepare and file GST/PST returns and other government remittances
Assist with payroll preparation and benefits reconciliation
Conduct account analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies
Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
Assist with budgeting and monitor expenditures against budgeted amounts
Maintain accurate general ledgers and provide support for financial reporting
Coordinate with external accountants during year-end audit processes
Provide occasional support with administrative functions as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience (multi-entity experience preferred)
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (experience with Sage is an asset)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience with payroll processing, government remittances, budgeting, and reconciliations
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Experience in the retail or service industry is an asset
