Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions. This role requires proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms and a solid understanding of financial principles, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our financial data and supporting the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

Duties



Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations using accounting software Sage Simply Accounting Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and ledger entries. Record journal entries accurately, including debits and credits, to maintain the general ledger. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, adhering to GAAP standards. Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings. Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and preparing relevant reports. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data. Maintain organized records of all financial transactions for audit purposes. Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation. Stay updated on governmental accounting regulations and tax requirements relevant to the organization's operations.

Skills



Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools. Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting. Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation. Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and tax experience. Ability to interpret financial concepts and prepare comprehensive financial reports. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and budgeting processes. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10 key typing is a plus. Effective communication skills for report writing and collaborative work within finance teams. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.97-$32.92 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
