Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Bookkeeper with experience in grants and government subsidy research to manage day-to-day financial records across multiple Corpwell Capital entities.
In addition to core bookkeeping responsibilities, this role will support management by researching, tracking, and assisting with applications for government grants and subsidy programs, particularly for agriculture, forestry, and business development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Maintain accurate daily bookkeeping for Corpwell Capital and its subsidiary companies
Record and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process invoices, payments, receipts, and expense reports
Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
Track cash flow, budgets, and project-based expenses
Support GST/HST filings, payroll coordination, and CRA compliance
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions
Maintain strict confidentiality and internal financial controls
Grants & Subsidies Support
Research government grants, incentives, and subsidy programs (federal, provincial, and municipal)
Assist in identifying funding opportunities for:
Forestry and agriculture businesses
Real estate and development projects
Franchise and SME business operations
Support grant application preparation, documentation, and tracking
Maintain records of approved, pending, and rejected funding applications
Coordinate with management and consultants on grant compliance and reporting
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper (minimum 2+ years preferred)
Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
Experience managing multiple companies or brands
Ability to manage deadlines, multiple priorities, and confidential data
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with investment firms, real estate, franchising, agriculture, or forestry businesses
Experience researching or assisting with government grants and subsidies
Familiarity with CRA filings, payroll, GST/HST
Bookkeeping certification or accounting diploma
Experience supporting project-based or capital-intensive businesses
