Bookkeeper



REPORTS TO: Controller

BASIC FUNCTION: The Bookkeeper is responsible for helping to audit and control organizational finances and complete accounting transactions in accordance with IFRS.

JOB TYPE: Full Time

SALARY: $55,000-$60,000 per annum

JOB LOCATION: In-Office (Kingston, Brockville, and Smiths Falls, Ontario)



ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Ensuring the accuracy of completed financial transactions. Helping to produce periodic financial reports and coordinating with Controller regarding entries. Ensuring the accuracy of intercompany transactions. Preparing reconciliations for various accounts. Assist with preparation of annual external audit. Completing monthly and yearly accounting entries for fiscal periods. Examines and analyzes various financial metrics for Controller and VP of Finance. Disseminates reports to management staff. Ensures that organization is compliant with relevant legislated reporting and remittance requirements. Ensuring that payables and receivables are completed, entered, and consolidated daily. Completion of daily accounting tasks such as invoicing and payables. Completes additional duties as required by Controller/VP of Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of experience with accounting principles, procedures, financial statements, and general ledger functions. Knowledge of SAGE 300 and SAGE 50 is an asset. Undergraduate degree in accounting is an asset. Demonstrated proficiency in general office etiquette, legible handwriting and telephone manners. Working knowledge of computers and business and word processing software including Word and Excel. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, speaking and transcription. Demonstrated working knowledge of office machines. Ability to work shifts and hours mandated by management. Hours may be extended during month-end and year-end to ensure deadlines are met. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a positive disposition and strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to develop work relationships while effectively supervising staff. Must have own transportation

and the ability to travel between facilities as required
