Due to the growth of our practice, we are looking for two highly skilled Bookkeepers to join our team. It is important to us that you love what you do and who you work with. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients including:
Processing accounts receivable and payable transactions
Verifying supporting documentation and posting to the appropriate accounts
Managing payroll and related government filings including PD7As, T-4s, WSIB returns and CEWS filings
Completing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Resolving accounting discrepancies
Preparing, checking and filing HST returns
Assisting with year-end preparation, balancing, and reconciliation of accounts
Daily filing and maintenance of a client's records
Ensuring deadlines are met and clients are taken care of
Providing input and recommending improvements to bookkeeping practices and processes
Demonstrating a professional, positive attitude and appearance indicative of the position
Performing administrative duties such as answering the phones, greeting clients and ordering supplies
Qualifications
Post-secondary education, certificate or diploma in bookkeeping or a combination of education and experience
Certified Professional Bookkeeper certification is preferred
A multi-tasker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal supervision
Very strong organizational skills
Flexible and adaptable
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Attention to detail and the ability to strike a balance between accuracy, efficiency and quality
Proficiency in Sage 50 is required; proficiency in QuickBooks, XERO, SBCA, and QBO is an asset
Skilled in technology and willing to learn new software
Can manage and prioritize multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
Able to prepare, analyze, and understand a financial statement
Must have a valid driver's licence and be comfortable travelling to work on-site with clients
