CanBiocin's small but mighty finance team is looking to welcome a seasoned Bookkeeper to a company of people who love what they do. Reporting to the Senior Accountant and working closely with the CFO, you'll bring clarity, accuracy, and heart to our daily accounting functions, ensuring the numbers tell the right story.

Your Role in Our Success
Help manage daily bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, etc.
Support the preparation of month-end close activities.
Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of pay-related data.
Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and expense reports; ensure compliance with internal approval processes.
Process and verify employees' time entry data.
Assist in preparing and processing statutory filings, including GST, WCB, and other remittances, under the supervision of the Senior Accountant.
Support inventory management by recording purchases, tracking materials and supplies, and reconciling inventory balances.
Assist with reporting and data entry for financial statements, budgets, and forecasts as directed by the Senior Accountant.
Identify and address discrepancies in invoices, payroll, or inventory records promptly and accurately.
Provide administrative and accounting support for audits, tax filings, and financial reviews as needed.
Provide ad-hoc support on special projects or tasks as assigned.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Degree (preferred), diploma, or certification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on bookkeeping and payroll processing experience.
Strong working knowledge of accounting software: QuickBooks Online (QBO), and QuickBooks Desktop (nice to have).
Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is an asset, but
not
mandatory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting.
Having an understanding of local, provincial, and federal financial regulations is an asset.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
