Job Description


We are seeking a meticulously organized and detail-obsessed Bookkeeper to join our team in Edmonton. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, handling accounts receivable and payable, and assisting with tax filings. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of bookkeeping experience, proficiency in Xero (or similar software), and a strong working knowledge of Excel.To be considered for this role you MUST be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada. Our preferred location for this role is Edmonton, Alberta.You will:

  • Oversee and maintain accurate day-to-day financial records, ensuring all transactions are correctly logged and categorised.
  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment, including the handling of employee expenses and reimbursements.
  • Manage accounts receivables and accounts payables, including:
  • Invoicing, tracking payments, and following up on late payments.
  • Ensure that all client billing is processed on time and reflect any adjustments as needed.
  • Manage supplier payments, ensuring bills are accurately recorded and paid on time.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and address discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare trial balances and other financial documents as required.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, payroll tax filings, and other government document submissions.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a Bookkeeping or similar role
  • Proven Accounting experience in a small business environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and colleagues
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and accounting practices
  • Experience in managing employee timesheet billing would be a plus.
  • French language skills would be considered an asset
