SE Design and Consulting Inc. (SE Design) is a growing Civil / Municipal Consulting firm that provides engineering, project management, geomatics, and consulting services primarily within the northeastern region of Alberta and Lakeland Region; and expanding throughout northern Alberta. SE Design is looking to hire a full-time, experienced Bookkeeper for our Cold Lake, Alberta office to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The successful candidate will be required to manage 1-2 companies and will coordinate with our current bookkeeper as required. The responsibilities entail:
Balance and maintain accurate ledgers
Accounts payable
Accounts receivable
Bank reconciliation
Payroll and Source Deductions
Review and confirm accuracy of employee timesheets prior to invoicing
Responsible for tracking employee paid time off / banked time
Assist in the operation of our project management system
GST reports and filing
Assist manager(s) when needed
Perform other administrative tasks as required
Skills and Qualifications:
Accounting diploma or equivalent
Minimum five years' experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable, keeping financial records and establishing, maintaining and balancing various accounts using computerized bookkeeping systems
Extensive experience with data entry and record keeping
Proficiency in Sage 50, Microsoft Office and Excel
Experience in services related to payroll such as payroll cheque run, writing cheques and submitting payroll taxes
A criminal record check may be required
