Job Description

Douglas J Bergen & Associates Ltd. (DJB) is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to join our team. This position will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the company.

This position is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, data entry and basic accounting requirements for the firm utilizing QuickBooks accounting software. This bookkeeper also prepares reports on the financial activities utilizing QuickBooks and Excel as well as the required information for the annual financial audit or review. Additionally, this position provides administrative support to the Finance Manager, Project Managers, Senior Architect Technologists and staff as required.

Duties and Responsibilities in this role:



Perform accounts payable. Ensure all financial information is received in a timely manner. Accurate and prompt posting of all financial transactions to the journal in compliance with DJB policies and procedures. Perform necessary account, bank and other reconciliations. Prepare for annual financial review/audit File GST remittances. Process invoices by reviewing budgets and contracts with Finance Manager and/or Project Manager for billing and payment Maintain filing system. Data entry as required. Work closely with the Finance Manager to provide the necessary support for their training and administrative tasks as required.

Application Requirements



The following requirements must be met by an applicant in order to be considered for the position:

Completion of a two-year diploma in Business Administration (accounting emphasis) or related field of study, or suitable combination of formal education and experience. 2+ years bookkeeping experience. Fundamental understanding in all facets of accounting. Recent experience and skill in computer use utilizing QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks On Line . Recent experience and skill in computer use, including Word, and Excel Strong attention to detail. Excellent organization, time-management and administrative skills. Advanced written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently, collaboratively and in a team environment.
