We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, including payroll and trust accounting. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision, show flexibility in a small team setting, and bring a passion for accuracy and organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of payroll: time off tracking, deductions, garnishments, terminations, remittances, ROEs, and payroll reporting
Complete month-end and year-end government payroll filings, including T4s, HST remittances
Record accounts payable and receivable transactions
Perform regular bank reconciliations and journal entries
Prepare year-end documentation for external accountants
Perform electronic wire transfers and disbursements related to real estate transactions and trust funds, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and financial regulations
Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
Assist in onboarding new hires
Other administrative and accounting duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Payroll Administration
Minimum 3
years of experience
in a similar role or industry
Proficient in
ADP
or similar payroll software
Strong working knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite
, especially Excel
Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion
Assets
Knowledge of legal billing practices and client trust accounting
Knowledge of Soluno [or PCLaw] and Net Documents
Experience working in a small office environment
Knowledge of Law Society of Ontario bookkeeping guidelines
