Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Bookkeeper

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple software platforms. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse clients, including corporate and non-profit organizations, utilizing advanced accounting software and adhering to GAAP standards. The Bookkeeper will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.

Responsibilities



Manage and record all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and others. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data. Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and handle payroll functions. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors. Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and governmental accounting regulations where applicable. Assist with budgeting processes and provide support for financial report writing. Support tax preparation activities by organizing relevant documentation and ensuring timely filings. Ensure accuracy in double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting practices. Utilize technical accounting skills to analyze accounts, perform account reconciliations, and support audit processes as needed.

Requirements



Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting. Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax preparation. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards is a plus. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records. Strong communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating with team members. Prior experience in public accounting or working with non-profit organizations is desirable but not required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
