An excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper is available through Robert Half. If you have worked with A/P, A/R, General ledger, and financial reporting, then you may be the right candidate for this Bookkeeper opportunity. Do not miss this long-term contract / temporary opportunity to work as a Bookkeeper in the Cambridge, Ontario area.Responsibilities- Oversee accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
- Process and maintain all Accounts Payable records including vendor invoices, credit cards, monthly reconciliations, as well as prepare and process all payments.
- Accounts Receivable including generating and reviewing monthly customer invoices and schedule of values, collaborating with project managers to gather necessary supporting documentation, tracking and monitoring accounts receivables balances, and ensuring timely collections.
- Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and receipts, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- Prepare and process weekly unionized payroll, ensuring accuracy of hours worked, overtime calculations, and employee deductions, as well as submitting monthly union remittances.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accrual journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and organize financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and changes in accounting standards, ensuring compliance and recommending process improvements.
- Perform other general administrative tasks as required.REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial statements.
- Experience processing payroll
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications
- Intermediate level Excel skills
- Experience with Sage 100, and Salesforce is an asset.
