At M. McKay & Associates, we provide assurance, tax, bookkeeping and advisory services in the Yukon and British Columbia. Our firm is located in Whitehorse, Yukon. OVERVIEW As a bookkeeper/admin assistant, you will provide bookkeeping services and support for firm\'s partners, and staff. You will work alongside your colleagues to proactively support their day-to-day needs and management of their service areas. You are a highly organized individual with exceptional communication skills and a high degree of discretion. As a bookkeeper/admin assistant, you will support, represent, and actively participate in a wide variety of Firm matters, including, but not limited to: OFFICE & RECEPTION
  • Greeting clients and guests
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service
  • Routing/transferring calls email correspondence, be aware of various deadlines, answering incoming calls
  • Preparing and coordinating office files, basic clerical tasks, data entry and operating office equipment (scanner and printer)
  • Maintaining and updating Vohcom Page software
  • Coordinating with the IT specialist
FINANCE & BOOKKEEPING
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Accept and process credit/debit transactions
  • Reconcile and send out monthly statements to overdue accounts
AUDIT & TAX ADMIN
  • Provide administrative support for Partners and staff
  • Coordinate work between other remote and local staff
  • Develop a good working relationship with all levels of staff
  • Coordinate and arrange logistics for meetings, conferences, entertainment and attend meetings to prepare minutes
  • Filing and document management related to engagements and projects
  • Prepare and edit presentations
  • Review and edit financial statements, proposals, contracts, letters, and professional business communication documents, including invoices
Ideal skills for the role
  • University, or college education \xe2\x80\x93 Business Administration Studies with College Diploma or Certificate
  • 2 or more years of experience in administration, reception or office management
  • 2 or more years of bookkeeping experience
  • Communication and presentation skills (verbal & non-verbal)
  • Advanced English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional approach at all times
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Intermediate to advanced overall computer and software skills
  • Responsive, solution focused, driven and energetic
  • Diligent, punctual, and systematically responsible in your approach to the duties of the position
  • Demonstrate aptitude to prioritize tasks based on comparative importance and urgency
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Flexibility to work overtime, if required
