PROJECT / POSITION 2) Ongoing Part-Time or Casual ongoing bookkeeping support
Position 2 will follow the completion of Project 1.
NOTE:
Our priority right now is project 1, and project 2, will follow. It does not necessarily need to be fluid and be done by the same person, although that option is available.
PROJECT 1
- QuickBooks Set Up and Reconciling Catch Up in our expanding small business.
The first project is one we need as a focused commitment until it is fully implemented. Ideally, full-time or some efficient near equivalent. Bookkeeping and QuickBooks experience is essential--good communication skills to discuss options and considerations are required.
SETTING:
Private, quiet setup in a rural area adjacent to Edmonton's western ring road, on the second floor with corner windows, you'll have access to a dual-screen modern computer, printer, scanner and filing.

You excel at working independently, have excellent attention to detail, memory and organizing skills, and exceptional familiarity with QuickBooks and accounting practices in Alberta, have a strong work ethic, and are smart, always looking for opportunities to identify opportunities for efficiency and economy in the task at hand and in the larger picture.
PRIMARY GOAL:
Optimizing our chart of accounts and streamlining processes for moving ahead, with QuickBooks set up and expeditiously getting caught up with reconciling expenses and identifying and discussing methods and adjustments to consider for our chart of accounts to structure ongoing processes with considerations of efficiency and streamlining as we transition into a phase of growth.
The priority is to ensure all expenses and transactions are being captured and recorded.
By nature, this is a position of trust, character, confidentiality and references, or alternatively, being bonded or similar.
We'd like to accelerate this process with full time or near full time engagement to be set up and have the new system operational and caught up as quickly as possible.
There are many receipts that need to be reconciled.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. A strength in Quick Books, or being a quick study is required, and a strong understanding of financial principles.
Duties
Maintain accurate financial records through bookkeeping practices
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Perform account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy
Assist in payroll processing and maintain payroll records
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues
Although not a current priority, we may discuss preparing budgets and assisting in financial forecasting
Collaborate with the owner to provide financial insights and support
Experience
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
Proficiency in QuickBooks (some knowledge of Xero may be an asset)
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation
Experience with payroll processing is highly desirable
Familiarity with budgeting and financial analysis techniques
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
PROJECT 2:
Ongoing bookkeeping support, keeping up with accounts payable and reconciling. Some remote work and functionality will likely be an option in this stage. Details can be discussed in person. This can be largely casual, though with a scheduled period weekly to plan on working on site and discussing ongoing projects.

Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
