Love animals, a checklist, and leaving a place better than you found it? We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join us as a Boarding/Kennel Attendant, a role with potential to grow into a role as a Veterinary Assistant. You'll care for dogs and cats, follow enrichment plans, and help our medical team by keeping meticulous notes, while also being the go to person for biosecurity and cleaning across the clinic. It isn't a glamorous role, but it is absolutely essential to the well being of our hospital. When you do this job well, you protect every patient, client, and teammate who walks through our doors.
We're staffed with a collaborative team who have a strong focus on patient comfort, client communication, and gold standard medicine. This is a casual position to start.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Support
: handling and restraint; patient monitoring, prep/sanitize treatment areas; set up equipment and supplies; enter weights, appetite, eliminations, and behaviours in the record under DVM/RVT direction
Boarding & Enrichment:
Feed, water, medicate as directed, schedule walks, litter/kennel care, enrichment plans, timely updates to pet parents & patient files as directed.
Cleanliness & Biosecurity:
Follow daily/weekly cleaning checklists; laundry/stocking; maintain treatment; reception; boarding spaces; and common areas (floors, doors/handles, bathrooms, high-touch surfaces.
Safety & Welfare:
Fear Free/low-stress handling; flag changes in condition; follow infection control policies.

Qualifications
experience handling dogs/cats in clinic/shelter/boarding/daycare
compassionate, observant, dependable; comfortable with cleaning tasks and bodily fluids
able to stand or walk most of the shift; lift carry up toe 50lb, and handle large/energetic pets
clear communicator; basic computer skills

Hours & Availability
Rotating shifts between approximately 8am-9:30pm, including weekends/holidays
Reliability is essential, medical and boarding patients are on a time-sensitive schedules
