Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor and working a two (2) week in / two (2) week out rotation, this position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of large rotary or percussion/hammer drills. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting all drilling and blasting requirements;
  • Maintaining safe housekeeping of work-areas;
  • Working with various teams in the open pit;
  • Following all explosives regulations and site procedures;
  • Attending blast courses and refresher training supplied by company; and
  • Conducting daily safety checks and inspections of the equipment before operating.
Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, the role is based in the Mine Operations department. This is a site-based position with a 14 days in/14 days out rotation and is a long-term contract for the duration of 2 years.QualificationsFormal qualifications:
  • Qualified to work in a surface mining environment;
  • Experience in mining industry, preferably open pit;
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced;
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental standards; and
  • Ability to work in a safety-oriented, fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
Please note priority will be given to Members of the Deninu Ku\xc3\xa9, Lutsel K\xe2\x80\x99e Dene First Nation, North Slave M\xc3\xa9tis Alliance, Northwest Territory M\xc3\xa9tis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation, followed by non-indigenous residents of the Northwest Territories.Additional InformationWho we are:Active in Canada for over 60 years, we are part of De Beers Group, the world\'s leading diamond company.
