Position Summary

:

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Hamilton seeks a Full-Time Case Manager to provide short-term case management, brief same day counselling, and outreach services, to adults who have serious mental illness and may be in conflict the with the criminal justice system. The Case Manager will provide group facilitation to Black women being released from custody. As per the funding agreement, this position is intended to increase access to Black therapist and mental health service providers in communities with high Black populations. This is a collaborative partnership with Hamilton Anti-Racism Resource Centre (HARRC)

Qualifications

:

All candidates must possess a degree in social work, nursing, or related health/social sciences field. Experience working with people who have a serious mental illness, including concurrent disorders is required. Experience working with people with personality disorders is required. Experience working within a framework of anti-oppressive practice and trauma-informed care is required. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Black Caribbean and African Culture and ability to network within Black communities in Hamilton. Must be registered or eligible for registration in a professional college or association. Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for use in this position. The ability to provide French-Language services is an asset.
