Job Description

Vancouver Imaging (VI) is seeking a Biostatistician to support and contribute to our research operations, in alignment with the strategic priorities established by the Board of Directors. This role focuses on statistical leadership in the design, execution, analysis, and dissemination of research findings in medical imaging and related fields.

Primary Responsibilities



Deliver statistical support for research projects:



Perform statistical analysis for a variety of research projects using appropriate methodologies and statistical software. Provide statistical input on study design, sample size calculation, power analysis, and data interpretation.

Provide daily research-related tasks and support services:



Collaborate with investigators to develop research protocols, grant proposals, and ethics applications. Draft and edit abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for conferences and peer-reviewed journals. Support clinical researchers (including medical staff, fellows, residents, and students) in developing and conducting methodologically sound studies. Participate in regular research meetings and academic discussions. Assist with data management planning, including overseeing data collection, quality control, and documentation. Liaise with industry sponsors, academic collaborators, and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of statistical components of research. Contribute to organizing research-related events, such as academic symposia or educational workshops. Ensure compliance with internal research deadlines and policies, as well as university and institutional requirements.

Qualifications



Education

Master's or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field. Experience in a clinical or healthcare research environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge, skills and abilities

Advanced knowledge of biostatistics and statistical methods. Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, or Python). Familiarity with research ethics submissions, grant writing, and regulatory compliance. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information. Familiarity with medical imaging, healthcare settings, or medical terminology is an asset.
