Your Opportunity:

As a member of the Clinical Engineering Department, you would be joining a diverse team to assist in the management of technology and support of clinically-applied devices for Alberta Health Services. The position is a Biomedical Equipment Technologist II (BMET II) and would be stationed in the South Zone, located at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The BMET II works independently or as part of a clinical team and is responsible for performance assurance testing and support of medical devices, ensuring compliance to CSA, manufacturers\' and accreditation specifications and standards. Responsibilities include scheduling and managing assigned workload and other related duties, as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). Additional Required Qualifications:

Must demonstrate technical skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Preferred Qualifications:

A strong background in medical equipment technology and service. Minimum 2 years of direct related experience in the assigned discipline. Must exhibit a strong working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written/verbal, and organizational skills. Must be reliable, possess good judgement, and be capable of working independently.
