About the Opportunity
This posting is for a position as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist with the Biomedical Engineering Department for Central Zone of the Nova Scotia Health. Initial placement will be with the Biomedical support team based out of the Halifax Infirmary site, though future moves between teams and locations are possible in order to respond to clinical support demands and trends. As a member of the Biomedical team, travel and coverage of the Central Zone may be expected on an occasional basis.
Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides support for medical technology by repairing, maintaining and calibrating life support and other medical devices as well as maintaining medical computers and networks. The Biomedical Engineering Technologist also assists in the training of physicians, nurses, therapists and other technical staff as well as performing safety performance and routine inspections on electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
