Our mission is to help people through life's toughest moments and restore safety, dignity, and peace of mind to the spaces we clean.

About the Role

We're seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to join our growing field team. This is not traditional cleaning -- it's physical, sometimes emotionally heavy work that requires compassion, stamina, and a strong stomach. You'll work alongside a small, supportive crew to clean, disinfect, and restore properties affected by hoarding, biohazards, and other difficult conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in hoarding cleanouts, junk removal, trauma scene cleaning, and biohazard remediation Safely handle and dispose of contaminated materials (needles, waste, etc.) Operate basic cleaning equipment (vacuums, sprayers, HEPA filters, etc.) Wear appropriate PPE (respirators, gloves, suits) and follow safety procedures Sort, pack, and remove debris, furniture, and personal belongings Maintain professionalism, empathy, and discretion at all times Support the team with supply prep, setup, and cleanup at each job site

Requirements

Comfortable working in rodent-infested, hoarded, and biohazardous environments Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work long hours in full PPE Clear criminal record check Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork Willingness to learn and follow strict safety protocols Must be comfortable with the emotional nature of trauma cleanup work
Previous experience in cleaning, restoration, construction, or waste removal is an asset, but full training is provided.

What We Offer:

Competitive hourly wage with room to grow On-the-job training and safety certifications (WHMIS, BBP, PPE) Supportive and understanding team culture Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people's lives

All applications must be submitted by November 15th.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 40 per week

Application question(s):

This role often involves helping clients in very sensitive and emotional situations (such as trauma, hoarding, or grief). How would you ensure you remain compassionate, respectful, and non-judgmental while still completing the work? Are you comfortable working in challenging environments that may include unpleasant odours, rodents, biohazards (bodily fluids, rodent waste), or extreme clutter?
(If yes, you may briefly explain why you feel prepared for this type of work.)

This role requires heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks. Are you able to meet these requirements? Do you have reliable transportation to job sites, which may vary within a 100km radius around Kemptville? Why do you want to work with Emdecon Inc. and what about this type of work appeals to you?
