Job Description

Omega Laboratories Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our forensic toxicology lab in Mississauga, Ontario for immediate hiring. This is a permanent full-time position for working 40 hours a week in either the morning or evening shift. The position is for 5 days a week, 8 hour shift/day, Monday - Saturday. The salary is negotiable depending on the level of experience.

Duties or Responsibilities
- Perform biochemistry laboratory tests and procedures based on manual and automated technologies according to standard operating procedures.
- Accession and prepare specimens for testing while ensuring specimen integrity and maintaining chain of custody and documentation.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and precision of test results and perform assay validation.
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Experience and Qualification
1. Must have at least three years hands-on experience working with biochemistry automated analyzers in medical and/or toxicology lab. College or co-op experience will not be considered.

2. A four-year degree in science/chemistry

2. Strong biochemistry laboratory skills, including lab techniques and procedures knowledge.

4. Previous experience with analyzer maintenance, calibration and validation is a must.

5. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

6. Excellent understanding of quality control systems and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.

7. Ability to work independently.

8. Must be a team player.
