Bio Med Technologist
Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Physics Technical Support, the Biomedical Technologist (Mechanical) provides a broad range of technical services to the Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) including fabrication of customized radiation treatment accessories and scientific devices, and mechanical repairs of radiation therapy machines and related equipment.
Qualifications
1. Graduate of an accredited Post Secondary program in Electronics Engineering Technology
2. Membership or eligibility for membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT)
3. Minimum 3 years experience working with linear accelerators and diagnostic imaging x-ray machines
4. Demonstrated knowledge of safety regulations/issues with respect to radiation generating equipment
5. Familiarity with complex systems; including control, servo-electronics, high-voltage, vacuum and microwave systems
6. Demonstrated excellence in trouble-shooting electronic/electrical system failures
7. Demonstrated excellence of workmanship and attention to detail
8. Strong interpersonal skills
9. Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and creativity skills
10. Able to work extended hours and weekends on short notice
