Our healthcare client is looking to add a Billings & Collections Specialist to their growing finance team!

This challenging position works closely with other Accounting team members, assisting in preparing and maintaining the accounting records of the organization to ensure accuracy and compliance with Regulated Bodies and established accounting standards and procedures. The objective of the Accounting team is to produce timely and accurate Financial Statements and various other supporting information in a professional manner.

In this role you will report to the Corporate Controller and be responsible for:

  • Process client invoices using billing platform, ensure accuracy and upload in the accounting system
  • Ensure all billings are coded to the correct GL accounts and cost centers
  • Interact professionally, collaboratively but persistently, with both clients and other departments for a resolution on aging AR
  • Maintain and organize filing of billings
  • Book accruals for month end close and ensure all billings have been booked in the correct period
  • Assist with quarterly and year end audits for questions relating to Revenue and Accounts receivable
  • Gross margin analysis on monthly basis to address any variances
  • Reporting sales by service lines to controller
  • Quarterly HST filings for Benchmark
  • Comply with and promote corporate policies, procedures and ensure proper internal controls are being followed

Job Requirements:
  • A team player, able to work without supervision using his / her own initiative
  • Must be willing to take on additional tasks as necessary and must be flexible especially at core times in the accounting calendar
  • Ability to handle large volume of transactions
  • A disciplined work ethic with respect to time management, organizational skills and written and verbal communication with all Piers, sub-ordinates and Senior Management
  • Good working knowledge of general software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience in working with software Great Plains and QuickBooks are an asset
  • Progressing in CPA program
