Join the Data Governance team, where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. In this position you will provide expertise in the development and implementation of the data stewardship deployment strategy across CMHC.

There are 2 available positions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide data stewardship expertise to a Data Working Group and Data Council to deliver a given mandate or resolve the most complex data-related issues.
  • Lead the Compliance Review Board to ensure any data project follows the data governance and data management standards and process.
  • Provide expert advice and recommend changes to CMHC\'s directives to the Enterprise Data Governance (DG) Office.
  • Provide strategic advice to the business on the interpretation and application of various data management directives including but not limited to data classification, data retention and disposal, and metadata.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert to establish data quality criteria and thresholds with the goal of ensuring data quality.
  • Responsible for the implementation of innovative analytical solutions, including but not limited to data understanding and preparation, data modelling, network analysis, visualization, data steward insights and performance assessment.
  • Develop and maintain data models and data management infrastructures to support the analysis and resolve high complexity issues related to business metadata and data quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or any other related field, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA) and/or Certified Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in data management / governance including recent data project experience.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and Data Quality industry standards (ex. DQM, ISO).
  • Strong experience with using a data governance / management platform (e.g., Collibra and Informatica platform) to document business metadata.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to work on several initiatives simultaneously and work within tight deadlines.
  • Superior skills in promoting cross-functional collaboration as well as partnering with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in both official languages (English and French) with the ability to relate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan insurance, affordable/social programs, real estate and finance.
