Our client in Quebec City is actively looking for a Bilingual Payroll Clerk to join their team.

Title: Bilingual Payroll Clerk
Location: Quebec City, QC
Length of Assignment: Temporary - Permanent - REMOTE
Salary: $25.00 hourly

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Imports data from HRIS to Payroll systems during payroll input period, verifies imported data against source documents provided by Human Resources and identifies exception payments requiring pay adjustments.
• Calculates and records exception payments (e.g. partial payments, termination and leave payments). Issues manual cheques. Issues Records of Employment. Records hours worked, overtime, special bonuses and deductions.
• Balances payroll and transmits payroll to Ceridian semi-monthly. Checks and distributes paystubs and reports.
• Calculates and remits source deductions, provincial health taxes/premiums, WSIB payments, garnishees and pension/RRSP remittances.
• Reconciles payroll GL accounts and prepares journal entries.
• Liaises with federal and provincial bodies, Human Resources and Business Units on payroll/benefit issues. Provides information/advice to H.R. and Business Unit contacts on payroll issues.
• Assists team-members and actively participates in identifying process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Completion or in pursuit of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification, in affiliation with the National Payroll Institute.
• Experience with Ceridian Dayforce. Ability to work under pressure and established deadlines (English and French).
