Reporting to the VP, Information Services, the IT Manager is responsible for developing strategies related to the deployment of desktop computers, office equipment, and the implementation of strategies to efficiently run an employee Service Desk team.

HERE\xe2\x80\x99S SOME MORE OF WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL BE DOING:

  • Hire and manage information Systems personal and contractors to operate and administer desktop computers, telecommunications software, and employee Service Desk tickets
  • Maintain organization effectiveness and efficiency by helping to define, deliver and support strategic plans
  • Direct technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices and user projects
  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and stakeholders
  • Assess and improve operational procedures to drive operational improvements
  • Work as an escalation path for the IT team for difficult challenges and coordinate with Engineering organization as required
  • Monitor ticketing system queue and assign accordingly
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating systems
  • Provide training and mentorship to IT team
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures and initiating corrective action (should it be required)
HERE ARE THE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS YOU\xe2\x80\x99LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

Your education and experience
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in IT, with 3+ years managing a Service Desk or related IT organization
  • Degree in Computer Science, diploma in IT or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Technologies
  • Experience using a Service Desk (or Helpdesk) software
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating a service catalog and creating roadmaps
  • After hour escalations as required
  • Strong written and verbal communication, both English and French
  • Certifications in Microsoft and ITIL v3
