Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the International Banking (IB) Communications team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Supports planning and executes delivery of robust communications products, guided by a calendar of initiatives and established processes across IB Comms. Provides advice to leaders and coaches team members.
- Assists with planning and production of IB internal communications materials including primary content research for quarterly results products, videos, town halls, and assorted presentations as required.
- Works with partners to develop the above communications, as needed, and coordinates their delivery.
- With coaching, the Assistant Manager works closely with the creative team and other colleagues to design and distribute email campaigns (including setup on AEM site) and quarterly materials.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, the Assistant Manager supports drafting, editing, and formatting/design of internal communications, including monthly and quarterly newsletters, emails, invitations, and leadership messages.
- As an avid follower of Bank activity on social media channels, the Assistant Manager is an engaged contributor during IB Comms' content development planning meetings, bringing ideas forward, guided by managers. Supports metrics reporting whenever needed and as directed.
  • Provides primary logistical support for IB Comms' events planning.
- Primary relationship manager between IB Comms and the Scotiabank events team in Toronto, ensuring seamless event planning and logistics.
- Works closely with in-country partners to plan and execute events remotely and measure results.
- Has an interest in project management and is skilled at prioritizing tasks.
- Identifies problems or potential problems and is proactive in seeking solutions.
- Primary relationship manager with translation services (internal and external) and occasionally accountable for in-house translating as needed.
- Is solely responsible for post-event deliverables and reports: manages and updates participant databases, conducts attendee surveys, reports and presents findings; has an excellent command of file management and archiving.
- Supports in-person and hybrid events.
  • Is accountable for enhancing coordination within the IB Comms team and with in-country peers across the Pacific Alliance countries:
- Working closely with managers and peers, maintains a current awareness of major Communications projects taking place across the Bank's international footprint.
- Develops a good understanding of All-Bank global communications campaigns and disseminates assets as appropriate with peers in-country.
- Acts as point of contact for queries from peers in-country and supports channeling those as appropriate.
- Leverages strong attention to detail to identify information gaps and ensure consistency.
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships relationships across the Bank.
- Facilitates a culture of open and honest communication within the team.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
  • 1-3 years of experience in a corporate communications role.
  • Exceptional skills in Power Point and Excel essential.
  • Knowledge or experience in web design an asset.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
