The Business Development Manager - Insurance is tasked with providing tailored insurance solutions that meet the needs of IG Wealth Management clients. Working closely with IG advisors, the incumbent will design and implement advanced strategies for wealth preservation, enhanced retirement income, distribution and transfer of estate assets, charitable giving, business succession planning and living benefits, including critical illness and disability income coverage. This position comes with a competitive base salary and benefits, combined with a results-driven compensation component.
The Business Development Manager - Insurance leverages their expertise in insurance and estate planning to optimize the financial plans of our clients. This includes the use of first-rate financial planning software to bring clarity to abstract concepts. The incumbent will proactively identify opportunities to partner with advisors and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Working with advisors, acts as an insurance expert in their respective teams, assisting them with their life, disability and critical illness sales.
  • Manages core issues for advisors on needs analysis, product selection and sales skills development.
  • Develops an optimal service offering using our financial planning software.
  • Trains advisors at various skill levels (through presentations).
  • Meets with Regional Vice-Presidents on a regular basis to ensure that advisors are committed to developing their insurance business.
  • Liaises with the region management team to identify strategies for growing insurance sales and advisor business.
  • Manages and promotes key relationships with our insurance partners\xe2\x80\x99 advanced financial planning departments.
  • Cooperates with Head Office on insurance and estate planning initiatives for the advisor network.
Proficiency Requirements
  • Strong leadership, sales and relationship building skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services and of insurance planning and estate planning principles.
  • Expert understanding of the insurance industry and its trends.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a virtual environment, in both English and French.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Fully licensed for business development in Quebec.
The incumbent will be based in the Montreal area, covering several offices across greater Montreal. Several business trips per year, depending on the needs of the company, are to be expected.
