Summary

We are seeking a Bilingual Back of House Staff member who is fluent in French & English to join our dynamic team at the Corrections Canada Training Academy. We serve up to 90 recruits' 7 days a week in a cafeteria setting.

Responsibilities

Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruit. Assisting chefs/cooks with basic prep tasks (e.g., measuring ingredients). Preparing simple dishes (salads, sandwiches, or sides). Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment. Ensuring food storage areas are clean and organized. Following food safety and hygiene standards. Receiving and unpacking deliveries. Checking expiry dates and rotating stock. Restocking shelves, fridges, and freezers. Reporting shortages or damaged items. Setting up and clearing down food preparation and service areas. Assisting with serving food (e.g., plating, portioning). Collecting and disposing of waste safely. Supporting cooks and kitchen staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices. Experience in kitchen environment a plus. Fluent in French & English Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Successful candidate must have or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.20-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
