Overview

Avison Youngs Data Architecture team is seeking a highly talented individual with deep knowledge and expertise in data visualization, data source development/connections and data management. As part of a rapidly growing team, you will be responsible for enhancing and growing the analytics branch of AYs infrastructure team - focusing on designing and developing our BI products.

You will be entrusted to understand the clients business questions, design solutions that will answer the questions, predict the way the data will be shaped, and create Tableau visualizations and dashboards based on that data. Leveraging Alteryx or similar tools for ETL while connecting to Snowflake, you will uncover actionable insights derived from understanding our clients data and gain an understanding of their business model, operations, strategy, and technology.

This role will be part of an ambitious team that is changing the way operational decisions are made. You will have a high-level of autonomy to work when and where you prefer, assuming you deliver per your engagement agreements with clients.

Responsibilities

• Translate client business requirements into products, set and prioritize deliverable due dates, and execute on completing all action items
• Design and develop business intelligence solutions that drive business results for clients
• Through software platforms, connect to databases and manipulate data for client delivery
• Develop and utilize automated processes to standardize data extraction and preparation for visualization through scripting
• Lead and utilize analytic and data modeling best practices
• From inception to delivery, conceptualize a product and execute its delivery
• Seek out innovation and best practices across all areas of the role - bring new ideas and thinking to the team and to internal processes/operations

Qualifications

• Client relationship and account management experience
• Strong technical and analytical focus
• Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
• Strong sense of urgency to achieve timely, quality results
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively, yet within a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Education, Training & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
• 3+ years of experience with Tableau - other data visualization tools such as PowerBI, ThoughtSpot, etc. is a plus
• Experience with data blending tools such as Alteryx
• Experience with connecting to and manipulating database relationships such as Snowflake
• Excellent problem solving, analytical, communication and customer-facing skills
• Willingness to dive into new technologies and to create data-driven solutions
• Excellent teamwork, self-motivation and drive for career growth
• An understanding of SQL and Python scripting
