Reporting to the Group Underwriting Best Practice Training Manager, the Trainer is responsible for the delivery of new hire and existing staff development training in SunSolutions and National Accounts. In addition to training delivery, the Trainer is responsible for improving performance through coaching and mentoring activities.

What will you do ?

Deliver new hire training and new skill training for group underwriters

Perform training audits

Support trainees

Create and update training material and documentation in our Wiki

Create e-learning modules

Support our Quality Review program

Support the Group Underwriting Best Practices team with inquiries, through participation in projects and assist with case production when required.

What do you need to succeed ?

Minimum 2 years Group Underwriting experience

Familiar with large case underwriting and financial reports

Strong presentation and facilitation skills

Capable/ability to train, coach, and mentor others

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven analytical, problem-solving and research skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office software skills

Good knowledge of other Group Benefits departments

Knowledge of adult education principles and practices is an asset

Ability to multi-task.

Advanced level of English and French required for Quebec applicants - immediate manager is a unilingual Anglophone outside Quebec

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
