The opportunity:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Benefits Analyst will deliver guidance and support on benefits provider plan management, documentation, and reporting related to all services provided.
The incumbent will become a subject matter expert on all employee benefit programs within the firm and will have the opportunity to develop as a subject matter expert within the role.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Being responsible for analysis and negotiation of annual renewals with benefits providers.
  • Producing quarterly experience monitoring reports and analyzing the impact of any changes to the firm; reporting and presenting results as required.
  • Reviewing and preparing benefit summaries, amendments, employee presentations / communications, marketing comparisons and annual renewal presentations.
  • Resolving and addressing escalated client issues and inquiries; acting as a subject matter expert on all benefits inquires.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or similar field of study.
  • 2-5 years’ experience within the finance industry in a similar or related role.
  • Previous experience as a Benefits Analyst, or experience in a similar role.
  • Insurance licensing or related professional designations (CEBS) are considered an asset.
  • Bilingual fluency (oral and written) in both French and English would be considered a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to proactively organize and manage a high volume of time-sensitive work.
  • A demonstrated, reliable work ethic with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • An ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and work requirements.
  • A customer-focused attitude, with a genuine commitment in serving and caring for other people.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; experience with financial tools would be an asset.
  • Exhibits a level of professionalism that allows clients to feel comfortable and able to discuss personal information.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An ability to independently prioritize and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong financial industry knowledge and product understanding.
