Belonging Brant Community Organizer - Temporary Full Time Contract (up to 7 months) Duties: \xc2\xb7 Using asset-based community development (ABCD) and core gift principles, you will network with a diverse range of people to build connections. \xc2\xb7 Creating posters, social media posts and podcasts. \xc2\xb7 With community partners, you will organize the promotion, planning, advertising, setting up, and tearing down of weekly gatherings, as well as facilitate virtual/on-line events. \xc2\xb7 You will host weekly community pop-up asset mapping events. Which includes finding a location, arranging a theme, recruiting community members to attend, organizing, promoting, setting up, and taking down the event. \xc2\xb7 Working with other team members you will seek out community connectors and support the development of social groups for people to gather and share common gifts and interests. \xc2\xb7 Using collaboratively developed processes, you will maintain detailed observational and evaluation documentation of Belonging Brant events, pop-ups, community assets, and community partnerships. \xc2\xb7 Tending to an already active passion for the community, you will grow and mobilize a collaborative knowledge of the Brantford-Brant, local events, agencies, and people (community-connectors) in order to support the creation of Belonging Brant groups. Hours of Work: up to 40 hours per week Salary: 21.99 to 23.88 per hour Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 A comprehensive understanding of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) \xc2\xb7 An actionable knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion \xc2\xb7 Strong multi-media skills and comfortable hosting Zoom meetings, creating podcasts, creating and posting content to social media \xc2\xb7 Community development/engagement experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience \xc2\xb7 Strong critical thinking skills, comfortable facilitating events and workshops (e.g., public speaking), and ability to make collaborative decisions \xc2\xb7 Dynamic, self-motivated, adaptable to change and enjoys working in a challenging, \xe2\x80\x9con-the-go\xe2\x80\x9d, community-oriented environment \xc2\xb7 Must have valid Ontario G Driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and access to a reliable vehicle, or on-going, reliable access to transit. \xc2\xb7 Must provide evidence of fully COVID-19 vaccination within 60 days of hire or provide appropriate documentation supporting medical or other reason that is protected under the Ontario Human Rights Code for not submitting proof of vaccination. \xc2\xb7 First Aid, CPR, NVCI certifications an asset Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
