Tasks

Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes Examine the behaviour Record observations Review reports from health care professionals to determine patients' current and potential functioning levels Provide therapy Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment Implement treatment plans Analyze the patient during the treatments Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them Counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions Tend to emotional well-being of children Identify childrens' individual learning needs Provide assistance to students with special needs Implement behaviour management programs Assist clients/guests with special needs Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children Instruct students on behaviour, personal development Assess clients' cognitive, social and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals
