Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Therapist to join our team as an Independent Contractor. In this role, you will support children and youth in achieving meaningful skill development through the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). You will work collaboratively with families and deliver evidence-based interventions in a supportive and engaging environment. This role is ideal for someone who values collaboration, ongoing training, and professional growth.
Work hours are weekdays only; no weekend shifts are required.
Key Responsibilities
Provide home- and community-based one-to-one ABA services.
Implement skill acquisition and behaviour reduction programs.
Collect and graph session data to evaluate client progress.
Provide training to parents/guardians and other family members as needed.
Attend family and/or team meetings to collaborate on client progress and goals.
Assist in completing reassessments to track client development.
Document session notes clearly and accurately.
Maintain updated and organized documentation and program materials.
Create and prepare ABA program materials as required.
Review and familiarize yourself with the clients' behaviour plans and consent forms.
Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, families, and clinical supervisors.
Maintain a professional presence during sessions and in interactions with families and the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Experience
Enrollment in or completion of an Autism and Behavioural Science program, a diploma in Behavioural Sciences, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or a related field; or in progress/completion of a Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis.
Experience working with children and youth, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or developmental disabilities.
Knowledge and practical experience in implementing the principles and techniques of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Experience with, or willingness to engage in professional development to learn, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles.
Requirements
Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the past 6 months).
Valid Ontario G-class driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
