We are looking for compassionate, fun, and dedicated behaviour interventionists (BIs) for a support team within Vancouver. Our teams support learners with building self determination and advocacy skills, as well as, empowering and engaging them through compassionate and individualized interventions in a 1:1 setting.

On any of our teams, you will be given the appropriate training and support initially and throughout your time on the team in the form of ongoing on-the-job training. It would be an asset if you have education and/or experience in ABA or a related field (e.g. Education, Psychology, ECE, Linguistics).

Flexible Scheduling

: Each shift or session will be a minimum of 2 hours long and will occur consistently each week, on a fixed schedule. The candidate and the family will come up with a schedule based on everyone's needs!

Client and Role Information



Team 1

: A charming and playful 5 year old boy with autism spectrum disorder.

Primary areas of intervention involve teaching him communication, social advocacy, and other life skills. Family is looking for 2-3 sessions a week at the learner's home in the Victoria-Fraserview area of Vancouver. The learner is in school, so the family is looking for sessions to be weekdays after school hours (after 3PM), and/or on weekends.

Team 2:

A curious and kind 8 year old boy with autism spectrum disoder.

Primary areas of intervention involve teaching him communication, social advocacy, and other life skills. Family is looking for 1-2 session a week at the learner's home near Main St and 49th Ave in Vancouver. The learner is in school, so the family is looking for sessions to be weekdays after school hours (after 3PM), and/or on weekends.

Duties of a Behavior Interventionist:



Implement behavior intervention plans and provide direct support to clients. Collect data on target behaviours and implement intervention strategies with support and guidance from junior behaviour consultant/behaviour consultant. Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interventions and progress notes.

Requirements:



Candidates should be at least 19 years of age. Have a clear criminal record or willing to undergo one. Able to provide at least 2 professional references. Wage is between $21 - 28 depending on experience. An individual who is energetic, patient, and dependable. Open to learning and have a positive attitude. Have good communication and interpersonal skills. Have strong play skills. Able to commit for at least 1 year. Prior training in ABA is an asset but not required.
