We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioural Therapist/Technician to provide support for an
intellectually gifted child
with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a private school in Mississauga. The child has advanced academic knowledge but requires substantial assistance with executive function, task completion, communication, and social skills. The successful candidate will work closely with and under the supervision of the school leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision and in collaboration with school leadership, multidisciplinary teams, and parents, the Behavioural Therapist/Technician will:
Implement individualized behavioural intervention strategies to support the child's development.
Assist with executive functioning tasks, ensuring timely completion and organization of activities.
Enhance communication skills through targeted therapies and social interaction exercises.
Foster social skills development by facilitating peer interactions and guiding appropriate responses.
Collaborate with the school leadership, parents, and relevant professionals to track progress and adjust strategies as needed.
Qualifications:
(All must have)
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Minimum of 1 year of experience providing behavioural support to children with ASD in Canada or the USA.
Strong letters of reference from a recognized and verifiable school or behavioural centers in Canada or USA
Must have lived in Canada or the USA >= 5years
Must have recent Police check/ vulnerable section.
