Behaviour Interventionists
. This is an excellent opportunity for
Educational Assistants, Child & Youth Workers, or Early Childhood Educators
who are passionate about working with children with diverse abilities and are looking to expand their skills through hands-on training in the field of Behavioural Consultation.
Position Overview
As a Behaviour Interventionist, you will work 1:1 with children implementing individualized programs designed and supervised by a Behaviour Consultant.

Behaviour Consultant or BCBA
.
This position is ideal for:
Educational Assistants, ECEs, or CYWs seeking to deepen their skills in child development and behavioural intervention.
Students or graduates in Psychology, Education, Child & Youth Studies, or related fields.
Individuals seeking flexible, meaningful part-time work supporting children and families in the community.
Responsibilities
Implement individualized behaviour and developmental programs under the supervision of a Behaviour Consultant.
Collect and record session data accurately using provided tools.
Build rapport with children and families through play-based, positive interactions.
Support skill development in areas such as communication, daily living, social, and self-regulation skills.
Participate in in-person/virtual team meetings and ongoing training.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times.
Qualifications
Experience working with children or youth (formal or informal settings).
Educational background in
Child & Youth Studies, Psychology, Education, or a related field
preferred.
Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
Reliable access to the internet for virtual training and meetings.
Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable personal vehicle required.
Must be comfortable travelling within the Elk Valley region (Sparwood, Fernie, Elkford).
Clear
Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
required before employment.
Training and Support
All successful applicants will receive
foundational and ongoing training
in developmental and behavioural principles.
Supervision and professional guidance provided by a certified Behaviour Consultant.

Contract Details
This is an
Independent Contractor
position.
Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own insurance, vehicle costs, and travel logs (mileage may be reimbursed depending on contract).
Scheduling is flexible and coordinated directly with families.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
