Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with clients
Advocate for and support clients' individual needs and goals
Implement effective, individualized behaviour management strategies
Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment to help clients reach their full potential
Provide timely response and support in crisis situations
Complete accurate and thorough clinical documentation after each visit
Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with team members
Attend and participate in professional development opportunities
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Adapt to a flexible schedule to meet urgent client needs
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 3 years of experience in the social service sector
Proven ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, dual diagnoses, and complex behaviours (including personal care)
Knowledge of Behaviour Skills Training, teaching replacement behaviours, task analysis, prompt fading, and identifying functions of behaviour
Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
Valid First Aid and CPR certification
Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
Ability to obtain a clear and current Vulnerable Sector Check
Preferred:
Additional training in behaviour management/modification
CPI or Safe Management Group certification
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including on-call or crisis response
Education Requirements:
Graduate of a recognized diploma or degree program in one of the following (or a related field):
Social Service Work (SSW)
Developmental Service Work (DSW)
Child and Youth Care/Work (CYC/CYW)
Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA)
Psychology
Social Work (BSW)
Personal Support Worker (PSW)
