Bridge to Care is a Not-for-Profit Healthcare Organization that provides services to families who have children/young adults with special needs throughout Alberta, Canada
As the Behavioral Support Supervisor, you will work directly with BTC Program Managers and other members of management to monitor, manage and evaluate behavioral patterns for complex needs children/youth. You will provide your team with intervention methods and protocols that meet agency standards, and you will manage periods of escalation/crisis. You will have a safety forward mindset and will be skilled and experienced with proper restraint techniques.
You will provide day-to-day operational oversight to meet short- and long-term goals for both persons served and personnel. You will take responsibility for the organization maintaining high professional standards in all aspects of service delivery and personnel management. You will work closely with the Program Managers to ensure communication between care teams, management, stakeholders, and families of persons served are consistent and dependable.
Job Duties:
Provide Leadership and direction ensuring that all services are consistent with organizational mandate, philosophy and policy, legal, contractual, budgetary and other requirements
Ongoing Behavioral Management and Intervention
Crisis Management within the Program
Creation of Safety Plans and Implementation Protocols
Providing support to individuals through community integration, skill learning, and positive quality of life.
Utilizing highly developed behavioral intervention skills on a daily basis.
Coordinate and conduct family and persons served orientation, ensuring quality improvement standards are met, handling concerns or required actionable, developing and arranging personal care services to ensure that quality service is provided to meet client and family needs.
Coordinate and conduct personnel orientations to the Placement Program
Oversee the planning, scheduling and implementation of day-to-day activities and procedures
Review problem situations and work to resolve difficult or sensitive issues
Monitors the delivery of services that meets the needs of referred children, youth and adults as well as their families
Actively participates in Team Meetings, including consultation and planning settings with various stakeholders or other client-involved service providers
Emergency On-call duties
Requirements and Skills:
NVCI, TCI or MANDT Training is mandatory
Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification Preferred but can train upon hire
First Aid/ CPR Certification
Proven organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Must have a license and reliable vehicle
Able to accept verbal and written instructions
Able to work with minimal supervision
Reliable, dependable and personable
