Job Summary

The

Before School Program Staff

plays a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children ages 4-12 before the start of the school day. This position is responsible for planning and implementing weekly programs and activities, assisting with administrative tasks such as attendance, scheduling, and menu planning, and helping to coordinate special events and fundraising initiatives. The staff member supervises volunteers and placement students, ensuring the safety and well-being of all program participants at all times.

Duties

Plans, organizes and implements weekly programs for children aged 4-12 Assists in program related administrative duties (attendance, calendar, menu etc.) Assists with program specific special events and fundraising initiatives Supervises volunteers and/or placement students while in program Ensures safety and well-being of the program participants at all times Attends staff meetings, trainings as required Communicates and provides support to participants' parents/caregivers Ensures that all incidents/accidents are reported and required documentation forwarded immediately to the supervisor Participates in and supports agency-wide special events and fundraising initiatives Ensures an approach that displays a positive attitude, sensitivity and understanding towards people of all abilities, backgrounds and orientations Carries out other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in a related field Minimum 1 year of experience Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for working with children, parents, and school staff Enthusiasm for working with young people and fostering a supportive learning environment Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Flexibility to adapt programs based on different school settings and student needs
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
