Duties & Responsibilities

DUTIES

AND

RESPONSIBILITIES

The areas of instruction include manual machining and CNC machining, as well as complementary skills such as math, CAD, CAM and safety to support apprentice, machinist foundation and CNC technician programs. The subject matter delivered includes both theory and practical skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Machinist or Tool and Die Interprovincial Certificate or BC Certificate of Qualification. Minimum 5 years of recent work experience in the machining field. Manual lathe and milling machine experience required. Skills and abilities to instruct the machine curriculum. Current computer literacy required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Supervisory and leadership experience in industry. Teaching credential is preferred or willingness to enroll in the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program. Teaching and/or curriculum development experience would be an asset.
