Position Overview
Job Type:
Contractor (Part-Time/Full-Time as required)
Reporting to the Manager of Referees, the NPH Referee is responsible for officiating basketball games in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner, while providing a fun and safe environment for all participants. The NPH Referee will implement established Event rules to the best of their abilities. Referees report directly to the Manager of Referees and work in conjunction with the event Operations Manager as well as other NPH staff where necessary. Prior to beginning work, the NPH Referee must undergo and complete a training program. The NPH Referee is expected to understand, Embody and push the NPH culture with the basketball community. Being a referee means being in a leadership role, which has the power and influence to make or break an event--Referees at NPH are expected use this power responsibly to set a positive tone in our environment.
What You'll Do
Officiate basketball games according to NPH rules and standards
Maintain fairness, professionalism, and respect at all times
Collaborate with event staff and operations teams
Complete NPH's referee training program before starting
Lead by example and embody the NPH culture in the basketball community
What We're Looking For
Previous basketball or officiating experience preferred (training provided)
Strong knowledge of basketball rules and game flow
Confident decision-making and clear communication skills
Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
