Job Description

We are seeking an experienced individual with proven hands-on expertise in basement underpinning and benching to join our team on a project basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential foundation work, excavation, concrete forming (a MUST), and structural reinforcement.

This position is for skilled individuals with past experience only. Successful candidates will be considered for ongoing or full-time opportunities based on performance and project delivery. This position is for immediate start.

Responsibilities

Perform underpinning and benching work according to structural drawings and site plans Carry out excavation, formwork build/installation, and concrete placement with precision and safety Strong knowledge and past exerience in building forms and formwork for both benching and underpinning work Install and tie rebar reinforcement as specified in engineer drawings Operate and maintain conveyor belts used for soil removal, including replacing belts and performing minor mechanical upkeep Ensure safe excavation practices and maintain structural integrity throughout the project Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet deadlines Maintain a clean and organized worksite Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in basement underpinning, benching, or foundation work Proven ability to read and interpret structural and engineering drawings Strong understanding of rebar installation and reinforcement techniques Skilled in operating and maintaining conveyor belt systems, including swapping belts and addressing normal wear and tear Solid knowledge of excavation, concrete, and formwork practices Physically capable of working in confined spaces and demanding site conditions Must have personal protective equipment and basic hand tools Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and within a team Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
