Job Summary:



This position is responsible for overseeing all bartending operations while also serving guests seated at the bar and in the surrounding bar area. The Bartender ensures high-quality beverage preparation, responsible alcohol service and efficient bar management, while delivering professional, family-friendly hospitality to individuals, teams, and community groups. The role requires excellent organizational skills, strong guest service and the ability to thrive in a busy, sports-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities



Guest Experience & Service



Welcome and engage guests in a warm and professional manner Take and deliver food and beverage orders with accuracy and attention to detail Provide attentive service to guests seated at the bar and in the bar area Recommend drink and food pairings, explain specials and make informed suggestions Ensure responsible alcohol service, monitoring guest consumption in line with Serving It Right standards Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally, escalating only as needed Support a positive, team-oriented atmosphere by working collaboratively with servers and kitchen staff

Bartending Operations



Manage all aspects of the bar, including drink preparation, stock rotation, and cleanliness Mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to house recipes and safety standards Verify guest age when serving alcohol and uphold Serving It Right compliance Maintain an organized, fully stocked bar throughout service and complete daily bar setup/closing tasks Accurately process payments, tabs and end-of-shift reports Track bar inventory, assist with ordering, and report shortages to management

Operations & Table Management



Clean, bus, and reset bar tables and service stations efficiently Ensure the bar and surrounding area remain clean, safe and organized Participate in opening and closing procedures, including bar setup and securing the premises Assist with overall restaurant operations when required to support smooth service

Administrative & Event Support



Complete shift notes, incident reports, or inventory checks as directed Assist with preparation for association events or tournaments Support offsite service for community or organizational events when scheduled

Accountability & Reporting



Reports directly to the Food Services Manager Reports to supervisory staff on duty during shifts Reports to the Food & Beverage Committee Chairperson when the Manager is unavailable

Qualifications



Previous bartending and serving experience preferred Serving It Right certification (required) Criminal Record Check (required) Confident knowledge of drink preparation, bar equipment and guest interaction Friendly, team-focused and calm under pressure Able to take direction and support colleagues across departments

Additional Notes



Evening, weekend and holiday availability required, especially during tournaments Must be physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs and maneuver full kegs Offsite work may be required for association or community events
