The Bartender is responsible for the service of food and beverage orders, maintaining the cleanliness of the dining and bar area, and ensuring the highest level of customer service.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Greet and interact with guests while taking food and drink orders at the bar and in the lounge
Promote positive customer experiences by providing prompt and courteous services
Possess full knowledge of the Totem Rewards benefits and slot promotions
Maintain a
professional

positive
demeanor
Deliver and sell casino promotions, programs, and amenities to casino guests
Serve food and beverage options to guests
Ensure a consistent flow of services to guests
Ensure plated food meets standards and is correct prior to serving guests
Check on guests regularly and ensure they are satisfied
Take payment
Clear and wipe down tables after every use
Possess expert knowledge of the menus, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available to guests
Ensure consistency with designated glassware and garnishes for drinks
Prepare beverages for Slot Attendants and Casino Floor Servers
Conduct beginning and ending inventories
Stock service areas including the coffee/pop station and bar fridges
Prepare utensils and stock condiments
Maintain a
spotless
working area ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of surfaces
Ensure before / during / after checklists are complete
Maintain an NB Responsible Drinking certification
Monitor customer consumption and stop serving alcohol to intoxicated guests
Report intoxicated guests to the Casino Shift Manager
Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
Follow Bar supervisor's lead and report to Dining Room & Bar Manager as needed
Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures
Other duties as reasonable and assigned
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in serving on the casino floor
Remove empty or abandoned cups, bottles and glasses from casino floor
Working Conditions
May be required to stand, sit or bend for extended periods of time
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
Must be available to work a rotating shift support the Casino hours of operations (holidays and weekend included)
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience & Qualifications Required
Must be 19 years or over
Demonstrated abilities in financial transactions and math
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
The energy and enthusiasm to deal with difficult guests
Strong customer service and complaint management skills
Expert level Fluency in ENGLISH and FRENCH (written and spoken)
